On April 20, 2025, a delegation from Beijing foreign studies university (BFSU), led by its rector Mr. JIA Wenjian, paid an official visit to the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
As part of the visit, an official meeting was held, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation, mutual exchange of experience, and fostering strategic partnership in education and science on an international scale. The following key areas of cooperation were discussed:
To establish academic mobility programs for professors and students;
Conducting joint scientific research and producing academic publications;
Establishing a Department of “Uzbek Studies” at Beijing Foreign Studies University and introducing systematic teaching of the Uzbek language;
Implementing academic staff exchange programs between the two universities;
Joint publication of scientific journals and organization of academic conferences;
Developing PhD scholarship programs at BFSU for students studying the Chinese language.
During the visit, the delegation became acquainted with the university campus and the activities of the Samarkand Tourism Academy, exploring academic programs, laboratories, research centers, modern infrastructure, and the learning environment provided for students.

It is located in Beijing and is considered the higher education institution with the largest number of foreign languages taught in China. Uzbek language instruction was introduced at this university in 2016. The university has achieved outstanding results in the field of linguistics, ranking 18th in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for Linguistics and 330th in the QS Asia University Rankings.
