APPLICATION GUIDELINE

I. Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage (SRIUTCH), Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is committed to fostering international academic partnerships and promoting educational excellence on a global scale. In line with this commitment, we are offering a number of competitive scholarships specifically designed to support outstanding students from abroad who wish to pursue advanced studies in the fields of tourism and cultural heritage.

II. Available fields of the University for Master’s degree program:

• Tourism and hospitality;

• Museology, conservation, restoration and preservation of historical and cultural objects;

• Logistics (in tourism);

• Management;

• History and theory of architecture;

III. Required documents for application

• Motivation letter (up to 500 words).

• CV

• Language proficiency certificate (IELTS – 6, CEFR – B2, TOEFL iBT – 72 score). If the applicant has completed university studies in English, a language proficiency certificate is not required.

• Identity document (passport/ID card).

• Bachelor’s degree diploma.

• Photo (3x4 cm).

IV. Application instructions

1. Applications deadline: Applications are open until 25^th August 2024.

2. Interview: Online interviews with applicants will be conducted from 5th June 2024 to 25^th August 2024 upon registration. Please regularly check your e-mail for the online interview invitation link.

3. Additional Tests: If the admission commission decides additional tests are required, applicants will be notified via email.

4. Results Announcement: The results of the interview as part of the selection process will be announced within a week. Please regularly check your email and the official website of the admissions committee.

V. The grant will be allocated to cover the following expenses of the student:

Number of awards: 100 scholarships are awarded annually.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries: Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Kyrgyz Republic, People's Republic of China, Republic of India, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Russian Federation.

Organization of Turkic States, Commonwealth of Independent States: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belorussia, Egypt, Israel, Mongolia, Qatar, Republic of Türkiye, Saudi Arabia.

Countries along the route of the Great Silk Road: Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, North Macedonia, Malaysia, South Korea, Spain, UAE, Ukraine.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

• Tuition fees: Grantees are exempted from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees.

• Travel Grant: Successful applicants from around the world will be provided with one-time arrival and departure air tickets of economy class for visiting Uzbekistan every year.

• Monthly Stipend: Each successful applicant will receive a stipend equivalent to 500 USD per month, plus 100 USD per month for dormitory expenses.

• Cultural Trips: Twice a year, trips to the ancient cities of Uzbekistan will be organized to acquaint scholarship recipients with the historical cities, rich architecture, local customs, and traditions of Uzbekistan. Each successful applicant will receive an equivalent of 100 USD for each travel time.
